Where do the prices come from?
From JengaCost's Kenyan rate library. Every rate carries its survey date, a low-to-high range and its source, and the library is public on the price index. Where enough users have priced real bills, their median is shown alongside.
The rate library covers materials, labour and plant, plus built-up rates for work such as walling per square metre or roofing. Each rate shows when it was surveyed, its range and where it came from. The whole library is published on the price index, so you can judge how firm a figure is before you rely on it.
Baseline rates are for the Nairobi region and are adjusted for each county. When enough JengaCost users have priced real bills, the price index also shows the median they used. If you have your own rates, a signed-in account can keep its own rate library, and your bills are priced from that.
