Can I get a steel schedule and a materials list?
Yes. For a design JengaCost draws, a project includes steel to order by bar diameter in 12 m lengths, mesh and binding wire, and a materials schedule: bags of cement, tonnes of sand and ballast, stones or blocks, timber, roofing, doors and windows.
The steel take-off is measured from the reinforcement in the bill: foundations, slabs, beams, columns and lintels. It is grouped by element and diameter, rounded up to 12 m bars with an allowance for offcuts, and includes A142 mesh rolls and binding wire. The materials schedule turns each bill line into what you actually order, in the units suppliers sell. The materials schedule downloads as CSV, and the whole bill can be sent to suppliers for quotes.
These are for ordering and budgeting. A structural engineer's bar bending schedule is still what the steel is fixed to on site.
