Can I build my house in stages? How does JengaCost plan it?

Yes, and most Kenyan houses are built that way. Enter the cash you have and what you can add each month, and JengaCost splits the bill into stages. It shows when each stage can start once it is paid for, how long you save in between, and when the house is finished.

The stages are the ones a house is built and paid in: approvals and setting up, foundations to floor slab, walling and upper floors, roof, doors, windows and services, finishes, and plot works. Each stage costs what its part of the bill costs, plus your contingency.

A stage starts only when it is paid for in full, because that's how a fundi is paid and materials are ordered. If the money isn't there yet, the plan shows how long you save first. Durations come from the build programme for the house's size.

Plan a catalogue house on the compare page, or open a saved project's bill and press Build in stages.
