Can I buy imported materials through JengaCost?
Yes. Some suppliers supply imported to order and quote ex-works, FOB or CIF in dollars. JengaCost marks these as not delivered prices and ranks them by their cost on site, including duty, levies and VAT. The landed cost calculator works out the rest.
A price at a factory or port abroad leaves out freight, insurance, import duty, the import declaration fee, the railway development levy, VAT, clearing and transport from Mombasa. A FOB quote can look cheapest only because those are missing. So JengaCost shows each imported quote's minimum on-site cost and ranks it by that.
The landed cost calculator takes the quote, your forwarder's freight and your clearing agent's charges, and gives the cost on site and per unit. Charges you haven't entered are listed as not included, never guessed.
